  1. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by realizing that he is truly a wonder to the world. "You are a wonder," which is what the mother says at the end of the book. That proves my claim because it is that simple, he is extraordinary. In the beginning of the book, he has a low self esteem. But at the end, he starts to feel he is a real person and feels better.

  2. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by learning to accept himself in "'You are a wonder Auggie. You are a wonder.'" Auggie learns to be a light in others lives and not just hide. Auggie's friends help Auggie learn to change other's lives. They learn to choose kind. Auggie changes lives by teaching others that your face does not matter as much as who you are. You determine yourself and nobody determines you.

  3. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by not caring about his face anymore. On page 307. Auggie thinks "and for the first time in forever, I am not thinking about my face. I was just smiling a big fat smile" That means that he was not thinking about his face. That means the main problem is slightly solved because he doesn't care now and it won't stop him.

  5. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes from a shy, timid child to a strong, kind, mature student. Auggie changes from the influence of school. On page 304, "'He is the greatest… has carried up the most hearts. This quote proves that Auggie changes because on he wins an award for touching so many lives around him, for being strong through his troubles. He has survived 5th grade just by changing lives. If it weren't for what he has been through at Beecher Prep then he wouldn't be who he is now.

  6. In wonder by R.J palacio,Auggie changes by meeting new people and seing what a real kid can be like. He learned that his face does not matter. What matters is how you act. A quote in the book about that is-It's like people you see sometimes you can't imagine what it would be like for that person if they are in a wheel chair or can not talk...To me thought I am just me. An ordinary kid. That is when August really changed and noticed who he really is.

  7. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes in many ways. One of those ways are how he starts the year as the "freak" but after the nature retreat incident he realizes that people can change, and by people I mean his friends. He also changes because he seems to be more comfortable with people seeing his face. At the beginning of the year at the science fair for example he is very nervous about parents seeing his face.

At the graduation ceremony the author writes "August Pullman. I stood up. Then when she finally finished reading off names, she asked us all to face the audience and take a bow, and everyone applauded" This shows how even though he is standing up in front of hundreds of people he still doesn't seem to be that nervous about it.

In conclusion, Auggie changes in many ways throughout the story. From growing in height to growing in character, the possibility's are endless.

  8. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by not being so shy. ''And I don't mean to brag here, but it felt like everyone wanted to get close to me''. Everybody seemed to get close to him. First Auggie Changes by going to a real school and no longer home school. First his mom is like "you need to go to a real school". His dad is saying "you can stay have if you want you don't have to go to school". Than in like 30 minuts his mom and dad change sides. That was only the conversation at Auggies friends house Chorneales. Chorneales is one of Auggies only friends and Chorneales is moving and Auggie misses Chorneales a lot. Auggie and Chorneales boath love Star Wars and that's what they talk about and play with.

  10. in wonder by rj palcio August changes from the begining to the end at the beggining he was always thinking they are looking at my face because I am so ugly or they are gossiping about me and he thought he needed to hide forever but at the end on page 307 August thinks " we put our arms around each other and for the first time i can remember I was not thinking about my face " he changed from caring what people thought about him to just thinking I am how I am and that is great. August changed because of this whole school year. He changed in the school year because he had 2 true friends that thought of him as a normal kid. They thought he was a normal kid because even though at first they did it just to be nice they talked to him and learned he was normal. he was normal because he was nice funny and once you get to know someone you can truley look beyond there face

  11. In wonder my RJ palacio, auggie changes by feeling better about himself. Like whe he got his hearing aids he said on page 212. " headphones? Look at them mom! I said angrily. I'll look like Lobot!" But on page 215 he said, " now that I look back, I don't know why I was stressed about it all this time. Funny how sometimes you worry a lot about something and it turns out to be nothing." Just between 3 pages big changes happen and he feels better about himself.

  12. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by getting stronger like in the starting of the book he would cry a lot but now he does not. This is important because he got stronger by learning. Because he went to school and learned throughout his ups and downs. He learned by getting through like living through them. Because like Julian he lived through Julian and he does not go to that school any more. When Auggie learns these things he gets stronger by being kinder and nicer and is growing in many ways. That is important because he gets the best award in the award ceremony and everyone now sees him as normal now. That is important because Auggie wanted it that way and he is now happy because nobody cares about what he looks like anymore and they think of him as friend and a normal person that goes to their school and won this really good award.

  13. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by the way he feels about his face. On pg. 307 Auggie says, "We put our... my face." It shows that Auggie doesn't care about his face that much anymore. At the beginning of the book, Auggie is very self concious and wouldn't even make eye contact. Now he doesn't care about who stares. This change is also due to the nature retreat. When Eddie bullies him, Amos, Miles and Henry stand up for him, which made him feel better about his face.

  14. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by not worrying about his face but actually having fun. At the end, Auggie just carries along while being positive. He was so happy because at that moment when he got called up for his name for the reward, he had his moment of a standing ovation. At that exact moment. Everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their life because we all overcometh the world- Auggie. I totally agree with that.

  19. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by becoming more confident and sure of himself. 'I can remember, I wasn't even thinking about my face. I was similing a big fat happy smile. 307. He got confidence from the beginning of the year where he was really shy and people were almost afraid of him. He got some really nice friends at the middle of the school year and they helped him through a lot. At the beginning of the school year Auggie didn't like to get his picture taken at the start of school. Other people didn't really want to be with him. Now he's not afraid to take a picture with his face.

  20. In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes because in the beginning he hated the fact he was going to school. But the main part I think that changed him and him not be in paranoid about is the part when he was at that camp. He was help by Amos and henry and Milles "little dude" when Amos called him that he new that know one cared about his face (I mean people in the story not like those 7th graders). Also when he one the awards like when him summer and jack were taking pictures and he said he was not even thinking about his face. Before there was the pledge to not touch him but at the end when everyone was taking photos with him and having there arms around him the pledge was done it was done after camp.
