It looks like they are for plastic bags. I know this because it looks like there is a plastic bag next to it and I assume someone tried to put it in and it fell. It looks like they can pick them up and move them.
I think paper and cans and recycling go in them. Barcelona has very big recycling bins they must recycle a lot. We should have those recycling bins outside of our school it would be very cool.
I think those are recycling bins. The bins have special places to put your cans and bottles. Plus the title of the post is 'Recycling in Barcelona' because they're for recycling in Barcelona.
I think that recycling and trash goes in those bins. Some are green and blue so that's my reason why. There might be old recycled electronics in one too. ~Aria

Probably plastic bags. Also you can probably put cans and plastic bottles. Everything you can recycle.
