And maybe you couldnt plant them because there was not enough land to plant plantations. Also the north didnt belive in slavery and all people were free, so maybe people didnt have enough time to take care of the plantations.

Finally, Rhode Island is lush with resources and full of water and food.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't have plantations in the north because the soil was too rocky to grow crops. If they were able to grow cash crops, they would. If they could they would have grown cash crops to earn money. But the soil was too rocky to have plantations to earn money, like the south did.

It had good farmland, because of the many rivers, which would earn me a profit. It had forests which could be used to build houses and trap furs, furs were in high demand in Europe. New York also offered considerable religious freedom, of which I would feel safe to live there. One job they had was mining, the present day Appalachian Mountains offered that. And New York was a big economical colony.

And there is no slavery! Then it would be a peaceful life in Pennsylvania. Plus, Pennsylvania has many resources, like mining for example. There is no tabacco too, so I wouldn't be as motivated to smoke.
ReplyDeleteI would like to be a miner. I would like to because I like exploring and I'm interested in geology. I would be afraid in cave ins though. But it would be a good job and life.
I think there was no tobacco in the North because we couldn't grow it there. It was too rocky to grow it. If we could I think we'd probalbly would. I still wouldn't smoke though. But it would be a good wya to make money.
I would still go to new york to get a job. I would be a farmer it would be a great job because lots of people need food so it is a big industry and it has always apealed to me. That is why I would be a farmer.

ReplyDeleteI would like to work in North Carolina, as a plantation mistress. I would want this job because I wouldn't have to do much work, besides cooking cleaning and greeting guests. The master would make a great profit from selling cotton and tobacco to Europe, which was in high demand. The slaves would work for us, I'd be kind to them so that they would do a good job.

ReplyDeleteI would have picked the farmer job as I could change the industry. I would create simple machines to do the work. Eventully I could help other colonies. I hope that I could change the world.
I would be a farmer because I could get food for my family so my family do not have to pay to get the money to buy food so my family could live I much better life since we did not have to pay for food and we could by better stuff for my family.
ReplyDeleteI think yes because it would people money in the north. I think they did not do it in the north because it was to close too water. It would be hard. It would get runover by water. This is Niyathi
ReplyDeleteI would want to be a lumberman. You get to work in the forest because lumber was very imfortant back than almost any other job. A lot of people would depend on me because you need lumber to make houses and bulidings. When you chop wood you could feel the crisp cool wind behind your neck. You also get to see little animals in the woods. Thats why I would want to be a lumberman.

There weren't plantation in the north because it had rough lands and they couldn't grow crops.they could grow crops but it would be harder because of the land.there is also bad heat and the plants won't grow
ReplyDeleteI would like to be a sailor because I would be in a boat in the ocean and I would help people and get payed for feeding them
ReplyDeleteI would pick a job in Rhode Island. I would like to be a farmer because it would be safer than a mining job. I would also like to be a farmer because I could spend my day outside in the sun and plants. Plus, I would be able to provide for my colony.
ReplyDeleteI would like to mine. I would like this job because I like going underground. I also like MineCraft and that is mostly about mining so I would have a little experience. I also would like to smelt the ore in to iron ingots.
ReplyDeleteI would choose Virginia because they had tobacco. Tobacco made Virginia prosper. Virginia was also a good because there was a lot of good land for farming. I would get a lot of money from cash crops.
ReplyDeleteI would choose Virginia because they had a lot of tobacco. I would be a tobacco farmer because they got a lot of money. Tobacco was very addicting so people would not stop buying it. I would get a lot of money and purchase a good house.
DeleteIf there were plantations in the north to grow cash crops I think they would. They would because it would give them more things to chew on. If they ran out of food they would have a little more to help them survive. They would not have people do their work for them they would do it themselves.
ReplyDelete1) I would live in Rhode Island. Rhode Island had a good democratic society and very good politics government.
ReplyDeleteSince I am jewish it is also good because people have the free will to practice all religions. It was also on the water so I could swim and fish.
2) I would choose to be a politician. I would want to be a politician because I would have a say in voting government leaders. I might even have a chance at being a government leader. Most people would not be able to have a vote like I would.
3) There weren't plantations in the north because it was too cold in the north to be able to grow plants. The crops wouldn't be able to sprout. I do not think that if people were able to they would grow cash crops. It would be a good easy job that could earn them money. They could sell stuff they grow at the local market.
I would live in Georgia. It has good farming so i could make a living there. There is good soul so that they can farm will in Georgia. It is warm so that you can farm almost year around.

There weren't plantations in the north because people cant farm in the north because the cash crops cant grow I in the winter because crops cant grow when its like 10 degrease.
ReplyDeleteI would choose farming. I would choose farming because I could give people food. Also farmers have an easy life. Last farmers never have eniemes
ReplyDeleteI think that people didnt have slaves in the north because they had such good farmland that they did not need help. But in the south they had bad farmland so they thought they could take people to make them do work. There was one place in the south that did not want slavery goriga but they could not because they where cought up in fighting florida. and also people in the north had bad weather and snow so in the winter they could not work in the winter or take care of the slaves.
ReplyDeleteAnia U made this comment.
ReplyDeleteThere weren't any plantations in the North because plantations need hot and humid weather like in the South. The North's climate it too cold so a plantation would not survive, it wouldn't be worth growing one. But, if people could grow tobacco and cotton in the North then they would. Colonists would grow cash crops because like the name cash crops gave one a boat load of money, which would come from Europe. That's why plantation owners in the South were quite rich. People in the North wanted to earn a good profit because then they could buy slaves to do more work for them and be able to buy good provisions and clothes for the winter. Money was hard to earn back then.
I would go to a place with food and water.
ReplyDeleteThey didnn't build plantations in the north because the soil was terrible to farm and some of the colonies didn't allow slavery. If able to I think they would have grown cash crops because they want a higher income.
ReplyDeleteThere weren't any plantation in the north because of the weather. If people could grow cash crops they would. They would so they could sell them. They could get money to make more.
ReplyDeleteThere was no plantation because the weather was not as good as the south. I think that if it was warmer then they would farm cash crops because then they could make more money. I think that they my have not farmed cash crops also because the soul was not the best. So if the soul was better then they my have farmed cash crops.

There wern't any plantations in the north. There wern't any because it was too cold. The plants couldn't grow because the soil was frozen. If the plants did grow the would die of cold soon after.
ReplyDelete2: THE jobs i would do will be mining and farming.
ReplyDeleteThere wern't any plantations in the north because there were lots of mountains. Mountains are not good planting soil, its rocky and bumpy. The cold air would make the plants die. You would have to cut down lots of forests just to get a little bit of land. The you would have to dig to get all the rocks out of the ground. I don't think they would've grown cash crops because of all those reasons.
ReplyDelete(Shin Be)
I would live in the new England colony of Massachusetts bay because the worlds best fishing and whaling grounds are miles off the coast. I would also like to live here because there is hunting and lots to build. There's not a lot of space for cash crops, but there is some space for a family farm. The soil would be rocky, but the cold winters would kill all the insects and in the spring we would be rid of insects.
ReplyDeleteThe job i would choose would be a whaler. I would choose this job because i would explore a lot. Also this is a really risky job. This is a good paying job because the products that are made are really important.
The reason there aren't any plantations in the north because of the rocky soil. Also because the north was really industrial. The rocky soil made the land hard to crop. Also it was cold and all the crops would die.

ReplyDeleteI would like to live in the colony of Rhode island. It had religious freedoms. It also had food like fish which I really like. Rhode Island colony has good resources like lumber and water.
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in Rhode Island colony I would like to be a Baker. I would work in town baking breads, cookies, pies, and other tasty stuff. I would make candy, too. Sugar was really expensive back then.
There were no plantations in the north colonies. The soil was rocky. The weather was cold. This made it very difficult for plants to live there to be sold.
