The tree had some dead branches, and it was concerned a big one would snap and fall, crushing a car or a pedestrian, or a cat or. Dog that might be unlikely enough to find itself underneath th he massive red maple. At any rate, I made the mistake of calling the city of Royal Oak.
All I wanted was a trim, to have the dead branches removed. What I got instead, though, was the removal of two century-old trees. Instead of just a trim, the city decided to remove the entire tree. Not only that, but another ancient tree, on the other side of our house, was deemed unfit and cut down as well.
The most troubling thing is that the core of the big maple was solid. No rot or disease. It seems as if a trim would have sufficed. Not so with the second tree, as it was hollowed out in the core and could have fallen easily in a brisk wind.
At any rate, we are nearly treeless now, with only 10-15 year-old trees left in front of our house, mere shadows where two giants once stood.
That's a really good story I love how it talks in so much detail!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is really sad, simon
ReplyDeleteThis story reminds me of when the book "the giving tree" got so old it couldn't give any more just like the tree couldn't live anymore

ReplyDeleteThis is similar too when I had a gigantic tree in front of my huse.
ReplyDeleteThis story connects with the time the city took down our little oak tree and we had to buy a new tree.
ReplyDeleteFrom Shin Be.
This makes me realize it is really sad that that happened
ReplyDeleteThis makes me realize how important this tree was. It was historic and proud as it stood, decaying today. Now only when a tree is cut down I realize how special they are.
ReplyDeleteAnia U made this comment.
then it got cut down
ReplyDeleteThis connects with my tree in my front yard. The city cut it down when I was about 7 and it was very very sad. But they planted a new one so it's okay.
ReplyDeleteI liked how that u described the story
ReplyDeleteWhy did they cut down the tree. I reminds me of a battle book last year when they did not want the orange tree to be cut down and they stood up for it.
ReplyDeleteThere is a giant tree in front of my house to so it is like my house.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of when my family had two pine trees out in the back yard. They were baby ones, that were about as high as Mr. Joe. (You) We have one right now because one started having dead branches and turned brown and when it was all down we got it removed and it was depressing. But I had never seen a brown pine tree, so that was a memory. But I get how you feel, but we didn't replace it so that was that. But Now I have kind of forgot about it because their is a garden there now and that was a long time ago. But it is a good memory.
ReplyDeleteOne time there was a really old at my house and it fell down
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the time where I raised a tree in my back yard. I found it one day as a little plant with two leaves now it is 4 years old and has a solid trunk and is taller than me.
ReplyDeleteThis connects with something that happened to me when we had to call someone to cut down a tree because part of it was falling on a wire in are back yard.
ReplyDeleteThis is similar because are tree has some bad branch but the city has not ct down are tree.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like when in a story a tree got cut down and every one was sad.

ReplyDeleteThis is similar to what happened at my house. The difference is we wanted the tree cut down because it was just dead and frankly annoying.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sad and all you asked for was too cut down a branch before somebody died. That happened when a huge tree fell on my favorite trampoline. It dented the pipes it was terrible.
ReplyDeleteThis is difference from national forests. In the natural forests they just let them grow. The can grow for longer than 200 years

ReplyDeleteThis is similar to when we had to cut down the willow tree in our backyard because it was too big.
This is important because it represents the governments carelessness for thinking green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete:(
(Nicolae) this connects with the time when our neighbor cut down our tree.

ReplyDeleteThis connects with the time a tree fell on my trampoline. it was a storm and a big tree branch fell on are trampoline and it broke. Then in the morning we called the tree place and they cut down are big tree.
This is similar to the time an old tree in my neighbor's yard fell into my yard after a thunder storm.

Will Baughmani agree with who ever that was they had to do what they did so no one would get hirt by the tree
ReplyDeleteThis makes me relize that the community had to have this happen just incase somthing were to ever happen to somone
This connects to the time my neighbors were cutting down a few branches in there back yard and it was really loud.
ReplyDeleteThis is important because this tree was very important to you and you wife and it had been there for a long time.

ReplyDeleteThis is driftnet from where people take a tree and move it.
This is similar to the time there was a big storm by my house. There was the big storm at my house and trees fell on the power lines and we had no power.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me realize when my neighbors tree almost fell on my dad's car
ReplyDeleteThis connects with one time when I had a goldfish name Dough and he died...
