What's the Big Idea?

In the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio, there are several "big ideas" throughout the story. These big ideas area also called "lessons" or "morals". Every good story, from small moments to short stories to novels have big ideas. We express them in the form of questions, so we can talk about and write about them.

A big idea from Wonder is "What is beauty?"

A big idea is a question that may be answered in many different ways. It is a "big idea question."

As you read your indendent reading book, write at least one big idea question in the comment section below.
