  1. We would be patriots because we don't want to abide by forced rules by the British. We think it's unfair to be forced to do something you don't agree with or want to do.

I would be a loyalist. I would be a loyalist because Britain was the nation that started and provided the colonists, think of it as rebelling from the US after a discovery expedition. Throughout Chapter 11 it keeps repeating that being a patriot was a dangerous job and many patriots were killed. And many loyalists were better off as in they had money and a fair position - life for a loyalist that was not politically associated would have a life that is easier than a patriots.

  8. If I lived at this time I would be a loyalist because I do not want the consequences of being a patriot like death. As "Dunmore to serve as royal govener of Virginia". This shows that loyalist get good jobs and wealth.

  12. I would want to be a patriot because I think the laws that the British were making were unfair. "Women had a duty to speak out against Great Britain. While she thought that women didn't have the strength to fight on the battlefields , their minds were powerful. She believed that women should have the same choices as men to get an education and to take an active role in politics. Also patriots are fighting for freedom while the loyalists are just fighting to keep their land.

  15. I would want to be a Loyalist, because it is best to have the Great Britain guide the colonists, because without Great Britain, the Colony might die off.

"As a Loyalist, Hutchinson believed that the colonists could not govern themselves without the British king to guide them."

Another reason is because Great Britain started the colonies, so even though some of their rules weren't fair, it was best allow them to protect the colonies

  21. I would be a patriot because I think it is unfair to people who can't pay taxes. Mercy Otis thinks that Great Britains's harsh treatment of the colonies is unfair. I think that it's only fair if they did not make us pay taxes if you have the money.

I would like to be a patriot becuase I think the laws that the british were making were bad. I would not like to fight, but I would try to get the british to be more fair. Paitently, he tried to pesuade the british government to stop making laws that the colonists thought were unfair.

  28. I would be a loyalist because if you went to a place to live, you respect the people there. Jonathan Boucher said "it is against god to disrespect the British. In addition, king George was sent by god". Another quote from a Asops fable story says that "you should never bite the hands that feed you". This is like what the loyalist did; they listened to the British. The patriots were against the british, so they were 'biting' the british hands.

  29. I would be a loyalist because I want to stay with the government and King George. You would never know if the people you go with may not know how to run a government. I would just stay with what we all are used to. Also, Great Britain started the colonies and they are continuing to protect them. Quote: "Great Britain started the colonies and continued to protect them," says Lord Dunmore.

  31. If I had to choose I would be a Patriot. I would be a Patriot because, I think that the patriots had the right to govern themselves and I think the the British were being unfair. I also think that the patriots should have been able to form there own colony without starting a war. " At first, Benjamin Franklin tried the reach a agreement with Great Britain. But, by 1775, he fully supported independence. He became a Patriot Leader."

  33. I would be a patriot because the British laws where unfair and they kept taxing people on things that they never had to put taxes on before. "It is unfair that the king chooses our governor" it was unfair that the governor made them do the taxes and that they couldn't represent the colonies. I like our laws but some of are laws are like the same as the British so maybe we can change that.

  34. I want to be a Patroit because I want to be free from the British. King made unfair laws and taxes on the Patroits. "The colonists should have the power to change unfair laws." I don't think it's right to pay taxes and give the money to Britain. I agree with Samual Adams.
